The role has responsibility for materials operations across 40+ customer sites, a growing organization of 40+ professionals, and a complex portfolio of long‑term service and maintenance contracts.

This position requires an executive mindset—someone who sets direction, governs outcomes, leads leaders, and partners cross‑functionally to enable Siemens Mobility CS’s growth and customer commitments.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Establish enterprise standards, governance, and operating models for materials management across all projects and locations.
  • Serve as the senior materials authority within SCM, providing strategic input to executive leadership and cross functional partners.

Customer Executive Engagement

  • Act as the senior materials and logistics executive interface for key customers, engaging at the executive level to align materials strategy with contractual commitments, service performance expectations, and long‑term partnership objectives.

Operational Performance & Risk Management

  • Own enterprise material availability performance, targeting >99% availability while maintaining healthy inventory turns and working capital discipline.
  • Ensure resilient, cost‑effective logistics and material supply models that support contractual work order commitments.
  • Lead root‑cause resolution for material shortages and systemic failures, ensuring sustainable corrective actions through process, systems, or capability improvements.
  • Be responsible for inventory accuracy, demand forecasting, obsolescence management, and cycle count governance across 40+ sites.

Leadership & Organization Development

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multi‑layer leadership organization of managers and professionals, setting clear accountability, performance expectations, and succession plans.
  • Foster a high‑performance culture grounded in safety, ownership, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Ensure robust training, capability development, and performance management practices across the organization.

Digitalization, Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Expand and mature the enterprise KPI framework, employing automation and analytics to drive data‑based decision‑making and productivity improvements.
  • Lead the standardization and optimization of ERP, MRP, and planning processes across all projects.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives across materials processes, tools, systems, and reporting to improve efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a strong focus on standardization, simplification, and digital enablement.

Cross‑Functional & External Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Purchasing, Logistics, Inventory Planning, Fields Service Operations, Finance, and Customer teams to ensure integrated supply chain execution.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Demonstrated success leading large scale materials and logistics operations in a capital equipment or project-based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing enterprise level strategies for materials and supply chain operations.
  • Strong expertise in ERP and MRP systems and data driven performance management.
  • Track record of leading through complexity, scale, and organizational growth.
  • Setting you apart from others would be deep experience with SAP in materials, logistics, or planning environments. Rail, transportation, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated asset‑intensive industry experience. Experience with advanced analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification.
