Position Overview

As a Packing Supervisor, you will lead and manage daily packing operations for steam turbine components and accessories. Your role will involve close coordination with cross-functional teams including Quality, Stores, Assembly, and Project Management to ensure timely, safe, and quality-compliant dispatches. You will play a critical role in ensuring that customer delivery commitments are met while adhering to EHS and QMS standards.

Work Experience:   
5 to 8 Years 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Plan and execute packing activities in line with project schedules and customer requirements.
Coordinate with internal departments (Stores, Assembly, Fabrication) for timely material availability.
Ensure all components are inspected and approved by Quality (IPQ) prior to packing.
Drive adherence to packing standards including proper locking, chocking, and labeling.
Prepare accurate packing lists, shipping marks, and dispatch documentation.
Manage fumigation processes for export consignments in compliance with regulatory standards.
Supervise loading operations and ensure correct vehicle-wise dispatch planning.
Maintain accurate records of weighments, dispatch details, and packing documentation.
Identify, record, and coordinate closure of material shortages with OM/PM teams.
Lead and manage contractual labor and vendor workforce for efficient operations.
Ensure strict compliance with EHS, work permit systems, and quality management procedures.
Drive continuous improvement in packing efficiency, safety, and quality.

Requirements/ Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering industry.
Hands-on experience in packing heavy equipment, preferably steam turbines or similar products.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and packing specifications.
Knowledge of Stores and material handling processes.
Working knowledge of SAP (preferred).
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
