Dear Aspirant!

We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly changing world. We’re looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future. Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you’d make a great addition to our vibrant international team.

We are looking for: Test Engineer

You’ll make an impact by:

·       Test Strategy & Design: Define and implement test strategies, plans, and scenarios aligned with MDMS processes such as meter data ingestion, VEE (Validation, Estimation & Editing), aggregation, and billing determinants.

·       Test Case Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test cases covering interval data processing, TOU scenarios, and complex consumption logics.

·       MDMS Configuration Setup: Perform end-to-end configuration of VEE rules, validation groups, register mappings, TOU calendars, load profiles, and multipliers in line with business and regulatory requirements.

·       Configuration Validation & Optimization: Validate configured rules and workflows by executing scenarios, fine-tune estimation logic, exception handling, and data validation rules, and ensure optimal system behavior.

·       Test Data Preparation: Create and manage robust test datasets including interval data, events, and edge cases (missing intervals, spikes, corrupt reads) to simulate real-world utility scenarios.

·       Test Execution & Data Validation: Complete test cycles and validate meter data processing, aggregation, unit conversions, and end-to-end data flow across HES, MDMS, and downstream systems like billing.

·       Integration & Workflow Testing: Configure and validate interfaces, APIs, batch jobs, and event-driven pipelines (e.g., Kafka) ensuring accurate data transformation and seamless system integration.

·       Defect Management & Quality Assurance: Identify, log, and track defects with strong MDMS and configuration context; collaborate with development teams and ensure fixes do not impact data integrity or downstream processes.

·       Documentation, Reporting & Governance: Maintain detailed configuration documents, test artifacts, and validation evidence; provide structured execution reports and ensure audit readiness.

·       Collaboration, UAT & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with SMEs, Product Owners, and business users, support UAT, optimize regression suites, and contribute to process improvements, automation readiness, and knowledge sharing.

Use your skills to move the world forward!

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science.

·       3–5 years of experience in MDMS configuration, manual testing, and test automation within utility or energy domains.

·       Hands-on experience in design, configuration, and execution of test cases for meter data workflows.

·       Strong domain knowledge in Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), including VEE (Validation, Estimation & Editing), interval data processing, and billing determinants.

·       Experience in configuring MDMS components such as VEE rules, TOU calendars, register mappings, validation profiles, and load profiles.

·       Good understanding of testing methodologies, SDLC, and defect management lifecycle, with focus on data-intensive systems.

·       Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for test automation and data validation.

·       Experience in API testing (REST), client-server and distributed architectures, and integration of systems like HES, MDMS, and billing.

·       Strong knowledge of data validation techniques using SQL, including reconciliation across large datasets and systems.

·       Exposure to event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka), batch processing, and log analysis in complex enterprise environments.

·       Familiarity with virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox) and server operating systems.

·       Understanding of utility standards and protocols (e.g., DLMS/COSEM, CIM) and basic awareness of security and data integrity practices.
