PSS®E Application Engineer – Customer Solutions

We are looking for: Software Engineer (PSS®E Application Engineer – Customer Solutions)
You’ll make an impact by:
· Serve as the first point of contact for customers using PSS®E and other power system simulation tools.
· Understand customer problems with minimal initial inputs and ask the right clarifying questions.
· Provide Level‑1 troubleshooting for Software usage questions (load flow, dynamics setup, data inputs), Basic dynamic simulation options and workflow steps, Error messages, warnings, and typical case setup issues, Installation and licensing inquiries
· Raise complex technical issues to Level‑2 engineering teams with clear documentation.
· Assist customers with: PSS®E workflow basics (load flow, short circuit, dynamics), Dynamics model selection, parameter input, and simulation execution.
· Guide users on standard processes for case preparation and scenario validation.
· Translate customer issues into structured, actionable technical information.
· Create and update support documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
· Log and track customer tickets in support systems (e.g., Jira, ADO, internal tools).
· Collaborate with product teams to relay common issues, feedback, and enhancements.
· Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with the engineering and product teams.

· Postgraduate (MTech/PhD) in Power Systems specialization with 1+ years of experience or BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience
· Basic to intermediate knowledge of power system analysis concepts.
· Woking knowledge of C/C++ and Python
· Familiarity with power system simulation tools such as: PSS®E (preferred), PSCAD, MiPower, ETAP, etc.
· Understanding of Load flow and short circuit study, Dynamics simulation fundamentals (machine models, exciters, governors), The typical workflows and input data/settings in simulation tools
· Strong written and verbal communication.
· Ability to confidently interact with customers and simplify technical concepts.
· Problem‑solving mindset and ability to think on your feet.
· Basic scripting exposure (in Python) for automation using PSS®E APIs
· Experience with support tools (Jira, Confluence).
· Understanding of power system data formats (RAW, DYR, CSV).
· Experience presenting or explaining technical concepts to peers or clients.
