As an Accounting and Value Flow Lead within the CF R HUB Western-Europe and Africa (WEA) center of competence in Lisbon, you will play a pivotal and central role in driving financial governance, fostering innovation, and supporting robust decision-making processes across more than 19 countries. This role combines strategic leadership, expert financial guidance, and team development to ensure compliance with IFRS and FRG standards and the effective implementation of IFRS policies.

You will manage a skilled team and act as a trusted business partner, providing insights and solutions to address complex financial challenges across diverse business segments, while applying critical thinking and professional skepticism when evaluating financial decisions.

Your mission will be...

  • Strategic Accounting Leadership, leading and guiding the implementation of accounting policies, ensuring adherence to IFRS standards and the FRG.
  • Reliable and foresightful coordination of the monthly financial accounting and closing activities, to ensure that the reporting requirements are fulfilled and completed in a timely manner;
  • Coordinating, aligning and reviewing the accounting activities with Siemens Services Providers (GBS)
  • Challenging and validating financial assumptions to ensure accurate reflection of financial positions (e.g., accruals, provisions, impairments).
  • Leading the review and analysis of the financial statements, identifying risks and providing and following up on actionable insights.
  • Providing expert advice on complex accounting constellations and transactions and support M&A projects that affect the CF R WEA region
  • Cultivating strong relationships with local accounting organizations, businesses in the various countries, the global business partners and with other stakeholders across the WEA region, becoming a trusted and reliable partner and advisor for accounting and closing related matters.
  • Acting as a strong, trusted and reliable partner for internal and external Auditors
  • Developing and managing a skilled team of 13 financial and accounting professionals, ensuring their continuous growth through mentoring, structured feedback, and training programs.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture by setting clear objectives and monitoring progress.
  • Driving innovation and continuous digital transformation by leading the adjustment of existing systems or adopting new tools and digital solutions to enhance financial analysis, reporting, and data interpretation.
  • Identifying and promoting opportunities for process improvement, harmonization and efficiency gains.
  • Oversee governance and control activities, through targeted financial reviews using a risk-based approach, ensuring compliance with global and regional standards.
  • Drive the maintenance, adherence, harmonization and improvement of the internal control framework (ICFR)


We are looking for someone with…

  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting & Finance or similar;
  • At least 10 years experience in Accounting, Audit or similar;
  • Excellent and extensive knowledge of the Financial Reporting Guidelines and related guidelines
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and efficient communication and presentation skills, initiative and proactivity;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills;
  • High resilience and flexibility to be able to work in a dynamic environment and willing to travel;
  • Strong knowledge of SAP system, ideally with experience in SherpaX / SAP S/4 HANA;
  • Fluent in English (mandatory) and one other language (preferred);
  • Excellent Proficient in MS Excel & Office
