Today, we are recruiting for an Depot Workshop Equipment (DWE) Engineer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Manage the full lifecycle of DWE machines, encompassing design, procurement, transport, installation, testing & commissioning (T&C), warranty, and maintenance.
  • Perform design engineering tasks for depot equipment, ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Select tools and machinery required for Rolling Stock (RST) maintenance and prepare detailed technical descriptions and designs.
  • Develop and review technical documents, including machine designs, interface designs, schematics, and layouts using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical) to ensure integrated depot solutions and optimized machine layouts.
  • Supervise and check the implementation of interface designs on-site, resolving any design-related issues during installation or commissioning.
  • Prepare and review installation manuals and Method Statements (MoS), covering sequences, planning, EHS, and logistics.
  • Plan and coordinate site installation activities, including equipment delivery, stakeholder readiness, and daily scheduling with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Oversee site logistics, tracking the transport of machines/materials from central storage to the site and monitoring on-site material inventory.
  • Monitor and report on installation progress, costs, defects, and delays, providing regular progress updates and updating schedules based on site activities.
  • Assure compliance with project quality standards and HSE regulations on construction sites, supporting risk assessments and method statement reviews.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Manager (QMiP) to maintain the technical integrity of assembly and manage as-built documentation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers and external suppliers regarding operational and technical queries for DWE installations.
  • Manage the maintenance of DWE machines both in storage and post-installation, including the management of labor and spare parts.
 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Must have: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in: Heavy machinery selection, technical design review, and installation oversight. Proficiency in CAD software for developing schematics and layouts.
  • Minimum of: 4 years of relevant professional experience in heavy machinery and installation projects.
  • Strong in: Communication and stakeholder management, problem-solving for on-site technical disruptions, and organized documentation management.
  • Advantageous / Plus: Previous experience in the Railway industry or large-scale infrastructure projects.
