Siemens Government Technologies, Inc. (SGT) is the trusted integrator of Siemens’ global portfolio for the U.S. Federal Government, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sectors. Leveraging the world’s leading technologies in automation, digitalization, electrification, smart infrastructure, and OT cybersecurity, SGT delivers mission-critical solutions that advance national security, resiliency, and modernization.

This strategic leadership role is responsible for driving growth of Siemens Digital Industries’ (DI) Automation and Smart Infrastructure (SI) portfolios across Federal, DoD, military services, IC, A&D programs, and the broader defense industrial base. The Director leads end-to-end strategic capture and campaign development, federal funding alignment, program shaping, and long range growth planning to position Siemens as a preferred partner for large-scale modernization initiatives.

Success in this role requires deep knowledge of federal budget processes, congressional appropriations, defense acquisition pathways, and the A&D ecosystem — including primes, OEMs, system integrators, research institutions, and government agencies. The Director works across DI/SI Business Units, Systems Engineering, Sales, Government Affairs, and SGT leadership to identify, shape, and capture complex multi-year opportunities tied to federal modernization priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Market & Growth Leadership
• Develop and execute growth strategies for Siemens DI/SI portfolios across Federal, DoD, and A&D markets.
• Identify, shape, and capture funded programs aligned to federal modernization priorities in automation, digitalization, industrial cybersecurity, smart manufacturing, and digital engineering.
• Drive Horizon 2 & 3 growth opportunities and position Siemens as a trusted automation, OT cybersecurity, and digital transformation partner.

Federal Funding, Acquisition & Program Development
• Track and analyze federal budget cycles, appropriations, authorizations (e.g., NDAA), and agency-level program funding.
• Identify, qualify, and influence emerging programs across DoD services, federal civilian agencies, national labs, and aerospace ecosystems.
• Partner with Government Affairs to align Siemens capabilities with legislative and executive branch priorities.
• Lead early-stage program shaping, requirements influence, specification positioning, and long-range capture strategies.

Capture, Campaigns & Business Development
• Lead Strategic Captures and Strategic Campaigns to secure new business, IDIQs, GWACs, and partner contract positions.
• Build and expand executive level relationships with government agencies, primes, OEMs, EPCs, system integrators, and channel partners.
• Develop briefs, white papers, proposals, technical narratives, and executive presentations as the business owner of assigned captures.
• Drive opportunity identification, qualification, pipeline advancement, and account based planning across federal and aerospace customers.
• Support teaming strategies, NDAs, partner alignment, and proposal development to maximize market access and competitive positioning.

Cross Siemens Collaboration & Leadership
• Work closely with DI/SI Sales, Systems Engineering, and Technical Organizations to ensure cohesive execution of federal and A&D strategy.
• Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and strategic insights to Siemens and SGT leadership.
• Align resources across SGT, DI, SI, and partner ecosystems to deliver integrated solutions.
• Mentor teams on federal acquisition, capture best practices, and aerospace/defense business development strategies.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
• 10+ years of experience and broad knowledge of the Industrial IT/OT and manufacturing environment and its key applications.
• 5+ years experience in federal government contracting processes and procedures.
• Have a track record of leading and developing talent.
• Have the ability to successfully coordinate/collaborate with a virtual team that does not report to you.
• Possess a thorough understanding of the DOW processes, applications, business drivers, trends and challenges including the End User community and key defense contractors serving these industries.
• Have proven ability to develop opportunity pursuit strategies and lead pursuit of complex opportunities across multiple sales organizations and companies.
• You can encourage and empower others and have excellent communication and presentation skills. Requires executive presence and the ability to communicate with key stakeholders across industries and government.
