What will you do?
Due to business growth and new projects in the Sudbury region, we are looking for a key resource to join our team! You will be aligned to our Ottawa office, however, will focus on the Sudbury / Northern ON area.
As BAU/BAS Project Manager supporting Sudbury / North Bay ON, you will provide direction and supervision of Building Automation and Construction projects to ensure successful delivery. You will oversee project status, and work with other resources. This is a great opportunity for a Building Automation Specialist or Technician with direct experience, who wishes to move into a BAU Project Manager role!
Responsibilities:
- Compliance & Oversight: Oversee onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Project delivery & Coordination: Manage and coordinate multiple projects according to the company’s established project management methodologies and tools.
- Planning & Scheduling: Develop project execution plan, detailed project schedules, incorporating critical timelines from construction requirements including work breakdown, structure, work package, and resource planning to achieve the defined milestones.
- Technical Lead: Directs project technical teams through various stages including planning, estimating, designing, installation, start-up, commissioning, retrofit, turnover and warranty.
- Financials: Profitably manage project portfolio; manage revenue and gross margin.
- Client Management: Act as main point of customer contact for project delivery and issues mitigation.

What will you need to succeed?
Education:
- Requires three years of college or technical school, Electrical or Mechanical or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience.
Industry Experience:
- 5+ years of direct experience working with Building Automation (BAU) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) technology in the construction industry.
- Project Management: 2+ years of operational experience in Project Management and/or Project Development are essential.
Technical & Systems Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of building electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of CAN/ULC standards, Canadian Building and Electrical codes.
- Tools & Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Project or alternate Project Management Software.
Professional Skills & Competencies:
- Financial acumen: Skills and experience with (costing/ budgeting/ forecasting etc.).
- Strong communication and presentation skills; and ability to communicate with contractors, consultants and executives.
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Other Requirements:
- A valid and unrestricted G/Class 5 driver’s licence is required to participate in the Siemens Fleet Program and for travel to customer sites within assigned region(s).
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
Asset(s):
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified with PMI or equivalent experience; or working toward.
- Designation or merit including P. Eng., LEED certification, CEM, CFAA or other industry relation designation.
Note - This is not an IT project management role or general project management role. This is a specialized role requiring expertise in Building Automation Systems, building codes, electrical/mechanical is essential to service our commercial clients.
