Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the products we use every day are conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
We offer a role with responsibility, independence, and the opportunity to contribute proactively in a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and individual development.
Start Your Career with the Strategic Student Program (SSP)
The Strategic Student Program (SSP) is Siemens Software's global internship program. As an SSP intern, you will be mentored by industry experts and gain hands-on experience working on projects that create real business impact.
As part of the SSP community, you will benefit from:
Access to an international student network
Professional development and career growth opportunities
Practical training and mentorship throughout the program
Access to the Siemens Learning Hub and other learning resources
Exposure to innovative technologies and global teams
Opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects with real-world impact
About the Team
At Siemens, we develop cutting-edge tools and methodologies to support the testing and validation of aerospace structures and components.
Dynamic environmental testing is essential to ensure equipment can withstand extreme operational conditions while maintaining performance and protecting sensitive instruments. The Structures & Environmental Testing team focuses on developing innovative solutions to characterize structural responses and design precise physical tests for the mechanical qualification of products.
Project Description
Modern aerospace and automotive engineering face increasing challenges in vibration testing as structures become more complex and development cycles continue to shorten.
Traditional vibration testing methodologies often struggle to accurately reproduce real-world damage mechanisms, creating the need for more advanced approaches. New formulations and methodologies are required to properly account for the complex dynamic loads experienced throughout a system's mission profile.
As an intern, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative testing and simulation approaches that help improve the accuracy and efficiency of structural qualification processes.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking Master's students in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
If you enjoy creative problem-solving across the full chain of structural analysis, testing, and numerical simulation, and possess strong communication skills, we would love to hear from you.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interest in aerospace structures and experimental testing
Knowledge of vibration analysis, signal processing, and control theory
Experience with structural analysis tools such as Simcenter Femap, Altair HyperMesh, or similar
Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools such as STAR-CCM+
Programming experience in languages such as MATLAB or Python
Good proficiency in English
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Result-oriented mindset with a collaborative team spirit
Motivation to contribute to shared objectives and continuous learning
