Siemens is a leading global technology company.  We combine the real and the digital world through industrial AI, automation, digitalization, and sustainable mobility, energy management and smart infrastructure solutions.  As part of this vision, Siemens’ Legal department is establishing a Global Center of Excellence in India to horizontally bundle legal support for sophisticated commercial projects and to drive governance for Siemens’ global data strategy.  The role also includes Legal domain ownership and business partnering for Siemens’ key customer verticals in India.  The role is strategic and highly visible within India and globally and will require openness to pioneer AI-enabled Legal solutions. 

We are seeking an exceptional lawyer (m/w/d) to join us as Legal Counsel, Siemens Global Center of Excellence based in Mumbai.  This role is fully integrated into Siemens’ Legal team in India and offers the opportunity to work internationally at the intersection of law, technology, AI, and global business.

 Responsibilities — 

Global Commercial Legal Support: Draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial contracts across multiple jurisdictions.

•  Provide structured legal risk assessment, bid support, and guidance on complex contracting structures based on Siemens methodology.

Strategic Business Partnering: Partner with business leaders, commercial teams, contract managers, and legal colleagues globally.

• Advise on strategic transactions and drive harmonization of contracting processes and legal standards across regions.
• Collaborate with global business leaders, commercial teams, contract managers, and legal colleagues across Siemens.

Domain Ownership & Industry Expertise: Develop expertise and support strategically important business areas, including data centers, sustainability, energy transition solutions, and emerging technology-driven industries.

• Enable scalable legal knowledge and best-practice development.

Legal AI & Digital Transformation: Contribute to Siemens' Legal AI and digital transformation initiatives by identifying, testing, and scaling AI-enabled legal solutions.

• Improve legal service delivery through innovation, technology adoption, and data-driven workflows.

Contract Intelligence, Compliance & Governance: Support contract intelligence and knowledge-management initiatives to generate business insights and improve decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience —

• Qualified lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction (preferably India, US, England & Wales, Singapore, or another common-law jurisdiction).
• Above 5 years' (as a guidance) post-qualification experience in a leading law firm and/or in-house legal function.
• Experience in commercial contracts and projects, technology transactions, software (including SaaS), digital business models, and international business environments.
