A snapshot of your day

As a Material Scientist, you will evaluate and characterize metallic materials and alloys for demanding industrial applications. You will investigate material behavior under mechanical, thermal, electrical, and environmental stress and derive recommendations for material selection, qualification, and performance improvement.

How you'll make an impact
Conduct material characterization, failure analysis, degradation studies, and performance assessments to support lifecycle improvement initiatives.
Contribute to sustainability-driven initiatives including material substitution, environmental compliance, circularity, and reduction of product carbon footprint.
Analysis of chemical composition, microstructure, and material properties
Failure analysis and investigation of degradation mechanisms such as corrosion, wear, and fatigue
Design and execution of material testing and qualification programs
Support material substitution, supplier evaluation, and sustainability initiatives
Collaboration with global R&D teams, suppliers, and external laboratories

What you bring

Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Physics, or a comparable field
Industry experience with metallic materials and alloys, including material characterization, failure analysis, qualification, and the application of materials engineering principles to support R&D, technology development, and manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as SEM/EDS, XRD, XRF, ICP, metallography, mechanical testing, and thermal analysis
Exposure to thermodynamic and kinetic modelling approaches, including CALPHAD-based methods, for early-stage prediction of phase diagrams, phase stability, transformation behavior, and alloy design.
Experience with Multiphysics simulations to evaluate coupled material responses under thermal, mechanical, electrical, magnetic, and environmental loading conditions.
Exposure to AI/ML-assisted materials discovery, materials informatics, or data-driven approaches for material development, technology scouting, and innovation is a plus
Strong analytical mindset and practical problem-solving skills
Ability to interpret data and communicate technical findings effectively
Willingness to travel (up to 30%)
