From seeing how a line of code evolves into a solution used worldwide, to exploring the breadth and depth of our diverse transport projects, build your skills with us and help transform the everyday.

The Customer Services business within Rolling Stock provides modifications and upgrades to the Siemens fleets that operate across the UK. These upgrades include systems such as passenger WiFi, CCTV and Passenger Information Screens.

Your task would be to design, build and populate a web-based tool to maintain registers of

• Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) for generic systems to provide a baseline against which future modifications can be assessed,
• Current and baseline risks for installed systems, so we can identify when and where proactive attention is needed,
• Software components and libraries installed in these systems to enable appropriate use and also to identify ‘at risk’ systems when a vulnerability is identified,
• Vulnerabilities reported by our HQ Cybersecurity function so we can evidence that products are not at risk,
• Customer reports of cybersecurity incidents so they can be reviewed and addressed appropriately.

The tool will need to be used by Siemens Mobility employees based around the country, with appropriate levels of security to prevent unauthorized and inappropriate use. Different levels of access may be required (e.g. author, reviewer).

The tool may also be used by Managers to produce periodic reports on the threats to our products, so a user-friendly dashboard will be required.

Skills required:

• Awareness of types of cybersecurity threats and standard means to manage them
• Knowledge of Python or C programming languages
• Understanding of basic statistics for the purpose of verifying aggregated data in reports.

• Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:1 or above in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar

• Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
