Transform the everyday with us!

Siemens eMobility® solutions is shaping the market with innovative EV charging technologies. We are dedicated to driving an open and accessible market for electric vehicles, as well as planning and implementing secure grid connections to enable further growth of EV adoption.

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer, EV Charging. This position will be based in Atlanta GA.

You’ll make a difference with the following duties:

  • Electrical Design & Development for EV Charging Systems: Drive the electrical schematic and PCB design for next-generation EV fast chargers (ranging from 100kW to 1MW), meticulously selecting components and designing circuits. This includes generating comprehensive documentation such as schematics, wire diagrams, and Bills of Material (BOMs) utilizing industry-standard CAD software like EPLAN and Altium.
  • Product Lifecycle Support & Manufacturability: Ensure designs meet stringent performance, quality, and cost objectives throughout the product lifecycle. This involves actively supporting local assembly, overseeing prototype builds, and providing critical production support. Collaboration with remote R&D and manufacturing teams is essential to optimize manufacturability, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate the introduction of new DC charging stations.
  • Regulatory Compliance, Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation: Guarantee product designs rigorously adhere to all applicable agency requirements and industry standards (e.g., UL2202, UL2231, NFPA/NEC, ISO 15118, DIN 70121, SAE J3105), including active participation in agency certification and approval processes. A critical aspect of this role is proactively ensuring product robustness and reliability by conducting comprehensive engineering assurance evaluations, specifically performing Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Component & ERP System Management: Run the selection of critical electrical components to meet performance, quality, and cost requirements for EV charging station technology. This includes setting up new materials and components within the SAP (ERP system) and coordinating closely with procurement for vendor selection, as well as owning the lifecycle of parts, including obsolescence and replacement strategies.
  • International Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key member of an international engineering team, fostering effective liaison with R&D, Procurement, Project Management, Product Line Managers, and Manufacturing. This collaborative effort ensures on-schedule and on-budget product development, facilitates the smooth transition from order-entry to production, and enables the swift resolution of technical challenges within a dynamic and evolving environment.
