Talent Acquisition Specialist - University Relations

University Relations (UR) is a strategic function within Talent Acquisition (TA) at Siemens Digital Industries Software. Our team’s mission is to attract, select, and retain the best, next generation of talent for Siemens Digital Industries Software. We are seeking a talented campus recruitment professional to join our team in Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all campus recruitment activities in the country, including establishing strong relationships with local business leaders and universities. You will also support early-career programming in Japan, including onboarding, learning & development initiatives, and fostering an environment of connection and inclusion amongst early-career new hires. You will also have the opportunity to support recruitment activities in additional Asia Pacific countries, once operations in Japan have been established.
This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented TA professional who is passionate about student talent, and seeking leadership experience, ownership, and business influence within a global organization.
Responsibilities:
- Talent Sourcing:
- Identify target universities and colleges based on academic programs and talent pool.
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, including online job boards, social media, and referrals.
- Campus Recruitment:
- Represent the company at career fairs, job fairs, and other campus events.
- Conduct informative presentations and workshops about the company culture, values, and opportunities.
- Organize and host on-campus interviews and assessment operations.
- Candidate Screening and Selection:
- Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
- Conduct initial screening interviews to assess candidate fit and potential.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to schedule interviews and make hiring decisions.
- Maintain Strong Stakeholder Relationships:
- Use market insights & other data to educate the business on campus hiring strategies in Japan
- Help shape key timelines for the local market, and gain business buy-in to operate on those timelines
- Understand early career talent needs of local business leaders
- Proactively communicate with hiring managers, HR business partners, and finance controllers to ensure alignment with early career hiring plans
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, incl. University Hiring.
- Expertise in campus recruitment strategies, universities, and other resources (i.e. local job boards) specific to successfully hiring early career talent in Japan.
- Comfortable with planning and leading large events, presentations, and trainings – strong public speaking skills required.
- Able to positively represent Siemens with student populations.
- Keen attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple high-priority projects.
- Exceptional customer service experience and mindset, proven problem-solving background.
- Able to balance global standards that align with the global UR function (80%), while discerning when local market nuances specific to Japan may be required (20%).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to build & maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (both internally and externally).
- Strong MS Office Skills.
- Fluent in both Japanese and English.
