Position Overview

Act as part of a Professional Services team, work productively with Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, and other internal & external interfaces to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives.  As an Architect resource, responsible for the translation of business requirements into specific process aligned designs for the Siemens DI Software solution based on multi product/multi-industry domain knowledge and best practices in the subject area, applied to standard projects, in order for the Siemens DI Software solution to deliver market leading solutions and provide value to the customer.  In line with project processes and messaging, interact with the customer to support the management of customer expectations and support customer adoption by leveraging the complete Siemens Delivery framework.  Provide architectural guidance and advice to Sales/PreSales pursuits and Services projects, through the complexity of solution architecture options and the long-term roadmap for the solution.

Act as trusted advisor on architectural design to address business problems ensuring that the technical integrity of the solution remains aligned to requirements and value delivery throughout project and that the various project solutions will work together to deliver value.  Provides direction for process design, process integration and process change activities either internally or at customer sites. Leverage relevant templates in the leadership of project solutions in own specialist area, and curate best practices and templates. 

Works under self-management and will determine solutions, methods and procedures on assignments/projects at a country level, of basic to moderate complexity and diverse scope that require specialist architectural expertise and leadership.  Participate in Zone Solution Architecture Community of Practice, promoting adoption within projects and country, and ensuring that knowledge and lessons learnt are shared across project/program boundaries.

The Solution Architect position will be reporting to the Electronics, Semiconductor, Industrial Machiner and Battery Business Unit's Technical Delivery Office Director. Experience in the above-mentioned industries would be a plus for this position, but, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of the project team and customer to deliver project goals.
  • Ownership of the entire solution delivered to the customer including work done by other team members.
  • Oversee all aspects of the technical project. Ensure that Siemens best practices are followed and that the functional specification is implemented correctly.
  • Direct the offshore team to successfully implement documented functional specifications
  • Assist the Project Manager with estimates, detailed work breakdown structure, and enforcement of scope for the project.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the customer to steer customer towards Siemens Best Practices.
  • Authoring of functional specs to document all detailed implementation information for the project.
  • Working with QA lead to execute our Quality Assurance process.
  • Run workshops to execute the Solution Definition portion of Siemens Delivery methodology.
  • Effectively communicate design direction to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Support the Engagement Manager on preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications.
  • Manage customer expectations across project cycle.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in engineering, computer science or related field. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in any one of these industries Semiconductor, Electronics, Industrial Machinery, Battery, an advanced degree may be substituted for industry experience.
  • Multiple years of designing Teamcenter solutions is preferred. Experience with other similar products, such as Enovia, ePDM, Windchill, Aras Innovator or Agile PLM.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to present complex issues to multi-level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status and issues to internal and external Customers.
  • Ability to handle tough and ambiguous situations without conflict
  • A commitment to drive implementation success in a highly competitive market
  • Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customer
  • Travel 50%+

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Advanced university or college degree
  • Experience in the technical leadership of large software implementation projects
  • Proven experience in leading a prescriptive solution deployment based on best practices and OOTB capabilities as opposed to simply meeting customer requirements as stated
  • Experience leading offshore team on implementation projects.

The pay range for this position is 125,300 - 250,600 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
