Siemens is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead digitalization initiatives within our manufacturing operations at the Buffalo Grove, IL location. This role will be responsible for planning and executing projects that enhance the digital capabilities of our shopfloor within the Supply Chain Management organization, supporting broader organizational digital transformation efforts. The initial focus will be on implementing a manufacturing execution system designed to optimize production processes and improve operational efficiency, with specific emphasis on paperless manufacturing and digital order management.
As a Project Manager, you will:
- Lead the implementation of digitalization projects across manufacturing operations, with initial focus on a manufacturing execution system, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements
- Spearhead the transition from paper-based to digital order management and manufacturing documentation processes
- Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and budget control
- Define and specify data structures, data points, and integration requirements to ensure seamless information flow between manufacturing systems and enterprise applications
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, operations, engineering, and production staff to ensure successful project execution
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and maintain effective communication with all levels of the organization
- Identify and document business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining quality standards
- Develop KPIs to measure project success and ROI of digitalization initiatives
- Create and deliver training programs to ensure successful adoption of new digital tools
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes through digital solutions
- Provide regular status updates and reports to leadership on project progress and outcomes
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with electronic work instructions and production order tracking systems
- Strong understanding of data structures and data modeling for manufacturing systems, including master data management and integration points between systems
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations
- Proven record of successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion
- Experience with change management methodologies and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience implementing paperless manufacturing systems and/or digital order management solutions
- Experience with Siemens OpCenter or similar MES platforms
- Specific experience with digital order tracking, electronic batch records, and paperless quality control systems
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies
- Experience with manufacturing data standards and data integration architecture
- Familiarity with automation systems, IoT, and data analytics in manufacturing
- Experience in the building products industry or similar manufacturing environment
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and system integration requirements
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies

The pay range for this position is $112,140 - $192,240 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
