A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Process Safety Engineer, you are a member of an international team working on pioneering solutions for our global projects that will shape the energy industry of tomorrow.

Embedded in a team of specialists, you take responsibility for worldwide O&G, Chemical and Hydrogen & Digital projects executed by the Business Area EAD within the Transformation of Industry.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

- The position involves aspects of process safety engineering such as explosion effects analysis and facility siting, pressure relief/disposal system adequacy, consequence analysis, dispersion modeling, fire protection, hazard identification (e.g. HAZOP or similar), risk analysis (LOPA, Event Tree Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Availability Target setting), as well as safety in design and management of change evaluations.

- As a Process Safety Engineer position, you will fully support EAD Projects throughout all the phases from design, manufacturing, installation to commissioning including (e.g. cost, time, functionality, customer satisfaction) whenever required.

- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHA) and process safety management audits to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

- As a Process safety Engineer, engage with customers within the business lines, and partner with the relevant stakeholders to arrive at sound risk management decisions regarding process safety concerns at their facilities.

- Process safety services may include,

    • Relief and Flare Studies
    • Flare hydraulics using Aspen flare system analyzer.
    • Radiation analysis using Flare Sim, Dispersion analysis.
    • Facilitating HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA studies and executing project deliverables

- Solid understanding of project stage-gated processes, upstream, downstream processing operations, Instrumentation and Controls systems.

- Develop modules and deliver engaging process safety training programs for employees, enhancing their understanding of safety protocols, risk assessments.

What You Bring


- Degree in chemical engineering, or alternatively, professional expertise of several years in an industrial environment is available.

- Knowledge of process safety, regulatory requirements, industry codes and principles of engineering.

- Demonstrated competency and experience in process safety design within a petrochemical and refining manufacturing complex.

- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

- Experience working in international engineering teams.

- Ability to communicate efficiently and facilitate process safety studies, analyze and build model in line with applicable industry standards.
