About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!

The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation.

We are looking for a Focused Factory Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.

We are building a new, state-of-the-art customer service operations facility in Wendell, NC — a greenfield site that will support our customer service portfolio. This site will house production, order engineering, logistics, warehouse, and procurement operations serving our nationwide customer base. We are seeking a Focused Factory Manager to lead the creation, growth, and optimization of this new operation.

We are seeking a Focused Factory Manager to lead the creation, growth, and optimization of this new operation – owning full end-to-end execution from project order intake, engineering, through fulfillment and delivery. This is a ground-up leadership opportunity for a strategic, hands-on operational leader who can build a high-performance team, establish best-in-class processes, and drive continuous improvement with a digital-first mindset.

You’ll make an impact by:

Operational Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the design, set up, and launch of the new customer service facility, including order engineering, assembly, warehouse, logistics, and procurement functions.
  • Own the full execution lifecycle – from project intake and engineering design through fulfillment and shipment – ensuring seamless coordination across functions.
  • Develop and execute the operational roadmap to support $40M+ in annual revenue with scalability for future growth.
  • Drive operational excellence through KPI management, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Establish and manage departmental budgets, cost targets, and performance objectives.

Safety, Quality, and Customer Focus

  • Create and champion a “Safety First” culture, ensuring all employees adhere to safety policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Align engineering deliverables with project requirements to ensure accurate, on-time, and cost-effective execution.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for order execution performance – including schedule adherence, cost control, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with project management, engineering, and field service teams to proactively address risks, improve delivery lead times, and enhance customer experience.

Team Building & Culture

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a multidisciplinary team across production, logistics, warehouse, and procurement functions.
  • Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Implement workforce development initiatives to support skills growth and future capability needs.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience leading operations in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling operations, ideally including greenfield, startup, or transfer experience.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven track record in driving safety culture, quality programs, and customer-focused operations.
  • Experience deploying digital tools, automation technologies, or data-driven optimization strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with MV Switchgear products

The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,72 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
