At Siemens Mobility, we empower transport providers worldwide to realise sustainable mobility solutions. As a leading technology company, we combine the real and digital worlds like no other in rail. In an open ecosystem, we bring together rolling stock, rail infrastructure, customer service, and software to enable sustainable, comfortable and cost-effective rail traffic today.

Create a better tomorrow with Siemens Mobility.

We are seeking a commercially astute and relationship-driven Key Account Manager to join our team on a 12-month contract basis (third-party engagement). Based in Perth, this role will be pivotal in managing and growing our strategic relationship with BHP.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with one of our most significant customers, driving business development, influencing bid strategies, and ensuring Siemens Mobility is well-positioned to deliver value and innovation.

In this role you will:

  • Act as the primary commercial interface for BHP, building strong relationships and understanding their strategic priorities.
  • Identify and acquire new project opportunities within the account, with a focus on upcoming locomotive tenders.
  • Influence and guide internal bid teams to ensure proposals align with customer expectations and Siemens’ strategic goals.
  • Plan sales volumes and potential across the account, contributing to regional forecasts and planning via CRM.
  • Analyze market conditions and stakeholder networks to inform account strategy.
  • Lead the coordination of bid content and technical direction based on customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Bid Management, Engineering, and Delivery to ensure seamless handover and execution.

Shape the future of mobility with your qualifications and skills.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in direct sales, account management, or business development—ideally within the rail or heavy industry sectors.
  • Strong understanding of commercial bid processes and customer engagement strategies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience working with large industrial clients, preferably in mining or rail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with strong organisational and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Intercultural awareness and experience working across diverse teams and customer environments.

Join us in transforming the everyday for a better tomorrow.
