Siemens Digital Industries Automation is a leader in industrial automation and digitalization. This unlocks previously unrecognized manufacturing potential, reveals new insights, and enables solutions that seemed unimaginable before.
We are looking for rising and recent engineering graduates for our Automation Genesis program – Discrete Engineering Track. The first six months of this position will be based at Mason, OH, with subsequent placements at Alpharetta, GA; Elk Grove Village, IL; and/or Harleysville, PA.
This program is an immersive, three-phased development pathway. The journey begins with a 6-month intensive onboarding phase that combines structured training with hands-on project work to build your foundational knowledge of Siemens DI Automation’s portfolio and professional skills, followed by a 12-month development phase to deepen your portfolio-specific expertise, refine customer engagement skills, and gain practical engineering experience. Upon successful completion, participants will transition to phase three: a designated full-time role, typically as an Engineer within our Technical Consultant team.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Actively engaging in intensive, instructor-led training and workshops to rapidly develop foundational expertise in industrial discrete automation, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), Computer Numerical Control (CNC), industrial networking, Cybersecurity, and relevant engineering principles, as well as mastering your understanding of our portfolio of related products.
- Rotating through a range of functional areas and projects related to designing custom software and hardware architectures, testing, project management, working with electromechanical systems and machines, and engaging the digital IIOT technology.
- Creating and implementing innovative technical solutions to complex problems using the latest factory automation, motion control, and process automation technologies and world-class simulation tools,
- Consulting with Siemens customers and driving their digital transformation through applications engineering with IIOT, additive manufacturing, digital drive train, and robotics innovations, while reducing time-to-market for our customers.
- Applying your expertise and knowledge to strengthen customer relationships, drive the growth of Siemens, and strengthen our reputation as a leader in industrial automation.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Available to start full-time employment in June 8, 2026.
- Must graduate no earlier than Spring 2025 and no later than May 31, 2026 (rising/recent graduates only).
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science.
- Must be willing and able to commit to the required relocations: first to Mason, OH for 6 months, followed by 6 to 12 months in Alpharetta, GA; Elk Grove Village, IL, and/or Harleysville, PA for the remainder of the program. Relocation assistance is provided to hires who must relocate more than 50 miles from their permanent address for each required move.
- Travel requirements will be a function of assigned projects and will likely range from periods of light travel (5-10%) to periods of higher travel (50%).
- Strong programming foundations: proficiency may come from any language or environment, including IEC 61131-3 (Ladder Logic), C#, Python, C/C++, Java, iOS/Android/web development, PLCs, or HMIs.
- Organized, self-motivated, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or project experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Leadership experience through academic or extracurricular activities.
- Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus.
- Basic understanding of control theory and/or PLCs.
- Experience with any of the following: Ethernet networking, power electronics, mechanical statics/dynamics, motion control, CNC machine tools, Windows app development, and/or robotics.

The pay range for this position is $81,000 - $84,000 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
