As a Network Integration Expert, you will provide end to end technical leadership for smart building network and controls projects from presales estimation through design, deployment, commissioning, redundancy planning, and long-term operations, serving as the technical liaison between sales, operations, IT, IT security, controls teams, branch management, and clients.

What will you do?

  •  Meet customer and company system requirements by selecting and designing network systems.
  •  Lead end to end project delivery by providing estimates, technical sales, solution design, bill of materials, project execution, commissioning, documentation handover, and ongoing service support. 
  • Coordinate with client IT and internal stakeholders to align on technical solutions with operational, security, and compliance requirements. 
  • Architect LAN/WAN, wireless, and controls network topologies (VLANs, subnets, routing, QoS, multicast, PoE, and VLAN/ACL segmentation for IT and OT convergence) 
  • Integrate BACnet/Modbus networks, ensuring reliable communication across BMS, HVAC, and enterprise systems. 
  • Specify and validate HVAC device connectivity
  • Design solutions for:
    • Redundant core/distribution/access switching,
    • Dualhomed uplinks,
    • Redundant power
    • PoE provisioning, 
    • High availability (HA) clustering for controllers, servers, and virtual infrastructure. 
  • Specify on premises servers, for building management system (BMS)
  • Create and deploy device configurations templates
  • Commission switches, routers, firewalls and BMS servers
  • Perform functional, performance, and failover testing
  • Troubleshoot issues remotely and on site to ensure system stability
  • Implement Cybersecurity best practices: 
    • Network segmentation
    • Device hardening 
    • NAC, RADIUS/LDAP integration 
    • Secure management plane
    • Vulnerability remediation 
  • Produce detailed logical and physical drawings, port maps, cable schedules, IP addressing documentation, control point lists, and runbooks for operations and service teams. 
  • Provide technical recommendation and support to customers and internal teams. 

What will you need to succeed?

  • Diploma or degree in engineering, computer science, cyber security, building automation, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years in network and controls integration for enterprise or multisite environments, hands on work with HVAC and BMS systems is beneficial. 
  • CCNA or equivalent required; certifications from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Tridium, or controls vendors preferred. 
  • Proficient with switching, routing, VLANs, subnetting, multicast, wireless architectures, PoE, copper/fiber cabling, BACnet, Modbus, and common HVAC control systems. 
  • Experience specifying and supporting servers, virtualization (VMware, HyperV or comparable), edge compute, and storage for building systems. 
  • Strong understanding of network security, segmentation, ACLs, NAC, authentication (RADIUS/LDAP), and secure device configuration. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed; valid driver’s license in good standing required.
