Then come and join our global team as Data Engineer (f/m/d) – Treasury and act as a vital link between Treasury business stakeholders and IT, ensuring robust, transparent, and compliant data infrastructure that supports current operations and future AI-driven initiatives.
Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.
Even more flexibility? Mobile working from abroad is possible for up to 30 days a year under certain conditions and in selected countries.
This position can be filled in Erlangen, Germany or Lisbon, Portugal.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Data Architecture & Modelling: You will enhance the structure of our data lake using a zone-based approach (Raw → Curated → Trusted) and apply best practices in data modelling to support data-driven use cases.
- Data Pipeline Development: You will support our IT department in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated data flows.
- Data Quality & Governance: You will implement and automate data quality checks (e.g. accuracy, completeness, consistency, business rules) and quality gates to ensure only validated data reaches the Trusted Zone.
- Metadata & Lineage Management: You will develop and maintain data catalogues, lineage tracking, and audit logs to ensure full transparency, traceability, and reproducibility across all data layers.
- Compliance & Audit Readiness: You will integrate with governance frameworks and automate compliance reporting to meet internal control and audit requirements (e.g., ICFR).
- Operational Support: You will support day-to-day operations and continuously optimize system performance and data workflows.
- Collaboration & Innovation: You will work closely with Treasury, Accounting, and IT teams to drive process automation and digitalization, contributing to the Treasury strategy.
- Technology Monitoring: You will observe market trends and emerging technologies to ensure a future-ready, continuously improving Treasury data environment.
- Data Science and AI: You will support further data engineering and data scientist projects and tasks to ensure operational excellence.
Your qualifications and experience:
- You have successfully completed a Bachelor-Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another field with a strong focus on Data Engineering or Data Management.
- You bring substantial work experience in designing data architectures and managing data flows across systems, including historization.
- You have initial experience supporting backend IT projects or implementing data-driven solutions, with a solid understanding of backend technologies and cloud environments.
- You are familiar with digitalization and automation concepts and apply them to enable effective data analysis and reporting.
- You embrace digital transformation and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement - developing optimal solutions that may involve changes to system architecture, software, or business workflows.
- You are motivated to shape the future by leveraging AI and data science, building on a robust and trusted data foundation.
- Experience or strong interest in the financial domain, particularly in treasury management, is a valuable asset.
Your attributes and skills:
- You are confident working in an international environment, including with English-speaking colleagues. German language skills are an advantage for collaborating with local partners.
- As the central interface between IT and Treasury, you coordinate effectively and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
- You take a structured, solution-oriented approach and make confident decisions, even in complex multi-party setups.
- You foster shared understanding of requirements, priorities, and technical constraints.
- You work independently and proactively, identifying and implementing optimization opportunities — with a view toward enabling future AI and data-driven initiatives. That involves continuously expanding your skills about emerging technologies to keep the Treasury data landscape future-ready.
- You thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, bringing curiosity, initiative, and a natural sense of teamwork.
