We at the Environmental Protection Data Analytics team are seeking a motivated and skilled student to support the development of Machine Learning (ML) models and AI solutions for comprehensive data analytics. In this role, the student will have the opportunity to work on various tasks related to ML model development/training, data visualization, and advanced analytics to support data-driven business decisions. 


You'll make an impact by

  • You support the extraction and aggregation of environmental data from various sources, including APIs, databases, and PDF documents, by developing and implementing automated data collection workflows
  • Building on this, you contribute to the development and training of machine learning models for pattern recognition, taking part in feature engineering, model selection, and validation tasks
  • Subsequently, you assist in deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments to ensure continuous data quality and availability
  • To visualize your findings effectively, you help create interactive dashboards and automated reporting solutions using PowerBI or similar tools
  • Throughout all tasks, you collaborate closely with the team to identify new data sources and optimize existing analytics processes

This is how you'll win us over

  • Education: You are currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related technical field and have at least one year left until graduation
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Advanced programming skills in Python, with proficiency in ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
    • Hands-on experience in data extraction from APIs and PDF documents, as well as data manipulation using tools like Pandas and NumPy
    • Experience in creating interactive dashboards and business intelligence solutions using PowerBI; knowledge of Tableau, Matplotlib, or Plotly is a plus
    • Familiarity with natural language processing libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, or Transformers
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ways of Working: You are highly self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
