R&D Mechanical Designer 

We are currently seeking to grow our engineering team dedicated to developing our next-generation of products in our Research and Development (R&D) department located in Sibiu.  

With our products at the forefront of technological advancement in the rapidly evolving field of electrification, you can propel your career to new heights. 

This role is ideally suited for someone who has at least 5 years of experience in their career. The successful applicant will be joining a newly created team with plenty of opportunities to learn new things and develop his/her career. 

In Sibiu, the activity will take place at SIMEA, for the Smart Infrastructure and Electrical Products team. 

The ideal candidate would be someone who has extensive experience in mechanical design, is deeply involved in product design, and has a strong understanding of the physical phenomena that underlines mechanical functionality of products is needed.

The key elements of this role involve:

  • Development of devices for power distribution systems.
  • Design and dimensioning of mechanical components and devices.
  • Implementation of product requirements according to the existing standards and specifications.
  • Commissioning, testing and qualifying of the developed mechanical components together with other team members and development partners.
  • Manufacturing support in case of quality issues.
  • Collaboration with other team members and interest in challenging new tasks.

Helping us drive our future vision, your toolkit may include some of these key skills

  • Master's, degree or comparable degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in mechanical components development
  • Experience in laboratory/testing activities
  • Experience with 3D-CAD software for mechanical design (e.g., NX or Creo) and simulation tools
  • Creativity in problem-solving and ability to meet challenges.
  • Cooperation and teamwork skills
  • Strong analytical capability
  • Intercultural experience/sensitivity
  • Language: Fluent English required, German is a plus.
