We are looking for a Principal Product Trainer. This role is based on-site in Wendell NC. We can consider a remote arrangement during the initial ramp-up period, with relocation to the Wendell area required within the first few months.
As a Principal Product Trainer, you will design, own, and deliver high-impact training that empowers customers and internal teams to confidently and successfully operate Siemens Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) solutions. This is a hands-on, visible role with substantial autonomy: you’ll lead course design, own delivery quality, and shape learning paths to meet our customers’ training needs.
You’ll focus on subjects such as Power Distribution and LV and MV Power Distribution Equipment, including commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Additionally, you will cater to customer-specific needs by offering on-site classes involving travel to client locations as required.
Training is primarily delivered at the Wendell Power Academy. Occasional customer-site trainings, field training certification activities will be required, with travel estimated at 25% if based in Wendell. This role is ideal for a technical educator who is energized by developing others, wants to scale their impact, and helps shape a growing training and business organization.
What you will be working on:
- Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and effective training sessions on Siemens’ low/medium voltage and power distribution products. If you have expertise with other Siemens EA products, this role isn’t limited to low/medium voltage products.
- Course Development: Collaborate with the curriculum development team to create, enhance, and update training materials, presentations, and hands-on exercises to ensure the content is up-to-date and aligned with industry trends.
- Hands-on Learning: Design practical, hands-on lab sessions to reinforce theoretical concepts and provide participants with real-world experience in configuring and troubleshooting low and medium-voltage and power distribution systems.
- Customer Engagement: Understand customer needs and tailor training programs to meet specific requirements, ensuring that participants gain relevant knowledge applicable to their job roles.
- Travel and On-site Training: Offer training sessions at customer sites, including travel to different locations as needed, to provide personalized training and support to clients based on their operational environments.
- Feedback and Assessment: Monitor participants' progress, assess their understanding, and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve the desired learning outcomes.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in power distribution technology, industry standards, and best practices to ensure the training content remains current and relevant.

Basic Qualifications:
The Power Protection Trainer role requires a combination of technical expertise, teaching skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Technical Proficiency 5+ Years Experience: Deep technical expertise and professional experience in assembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting low and medium-voltage electrical equipment such as gas-insulated switchgear, air-insulated switchgear, and Motor Control Center.
- Ability to travel 25%
- Passion for Developing Others: Can translate complex technical concepts into clear, role-based learning outcomes.
- Communication/Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
- Customer-focused and Adaptable: Skilled at customizing learning for diverse audiences and operational contexts.
- Time Management: Efficiently managing training schedules, preparation time, and administrative tasks associated with delivering effective training programs.
- Passion for Education: A genuine passion for imparting knowledge and skills, coupled with enthusiasm for empowering professionals in the field power distribution.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization—with the exception of current Siemens employees, for whom work authorization support may be provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IEEE industry standards and regulations related to power protection and distribution.
- Digital/AI Curiosity: Willing to experiment with digital learning tools and help expand e-learning or blended offerings.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $156,794 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
