We are seeking a highly experienced, results-oriented executive to lead our drive for Business Excellence and Operational Performance across the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this pivotal Director / Head role will be responsible for establishing, governing, and sustaining improvement initiatives across a complex, large-scale organization, and leading a cultural shift towards high performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the CFO, the entire C-Suite, and the top management leadership team to deliver significant, tangible results. What your Day-to-Day will look like:
Strategy & Leadership
- Lead, inspire, and coach a team and drive alignment across multiple organizations and countries to promote a culture of excellence.
- Establish and govern business excellence processes across the entire business unit, ensuring sustainable improvements and standard process adoption.
- Drive an organization of >4500 team members toward high-performing business excellence and operational consistency.
- Lead selected key strategic initiatives that deliver measurable impact and tangible results for the organization.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Management Team across the North America region and coordinate closely with global teams in Europe.
This role will have primary responsibility for ensuring excellence and governance in the areas listed below (including managing others who have been charged with a specific focus in each of these areas).
- PMO / Project Management Excellence: Establish standards, protocols, and robust governance for large, complex projects, focusing on Project Management Office (PMO) efficacy, Contract & Claim Management, and Opportunity Management.
- Quality Management Governance: Define and lead all aspects of the quality framework, including management of Audits, adherence to industry Standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- EH&S (Environment, Health, and Safety): Drive excellence in EH&S performance and governance to ensure extraordinary standards and compliance.
- Sustainability: Lead initiatives to integrate sustainability goals into operational performance and business processes.

To thrive in this role, you have:
- Substantial experience (10+ years) in driving sustainable improvement initiatives, project management, and business excellence across a complex, large industrial organization.
- Significant experience in the industrial sector, transportation, or rail is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading in the USA and internationally is ideal.
- Deep expertise in setting up and managing a Project Management Office (PMO) and managing large, complex projects.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the CEO, CFO, C-Suite executives, and the broader top management leadership team.
- Strong leadership track record in change management and driving cultural adoption of new processes.

The pay range for this position is $207,876 - $268,975 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
