You'll make an impact by

  • You support the development and application of simulation models for thermal systems, such as heat pumps and district heating networks, by working with Python-based tools and libraries
  • Building on this, you assist in analyzing and improving steady-state and dynamic simulations to enable more accurate operation and optimization of energy systems
  • Furthermore, you contribute to the assessment of communication standards and open-source solutions for integrating heat pumps into electric grids for flexibility provision
  • In addition, you help develop standardized models for thermal storage units based on real laboratory plants, supporting their integration into optimal control strategies
  • Finally, you implement and test methods for forecasting thermal loads, leveraging both simple approaches and regression-based techniques

This is how you'll win us over

  • Education: You are currently enrolled in a degree program in mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering, control technology, or energy technology
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Proficient in software development, especially with Python
    • Quick comprehension of new Python libraries and frameworks
    • Solid understanding of energy technologies and thermodynamics and their modeling
  • Ways of Working: You work independently, are eager to learn, and have strong analytical thinking skills
  • Languages: You have fluent English language skills
