Our Smart Infrastructure business unit focuses on creating intelligent solutions for buildings and energy systems. We are seeking qualified candidates for our Summer 2026 Smart Building Internship Program as a Supply Chain Management Intern. This role is based in Buffalo Grove, IL.

The Siemens Buildings internship program is a 10–12-week internship position and is designed to help you create a successful career path as a software leader within Siemens. The Internship Program start dates for Summer 2026 are May 18th, June 1st, June 8th, or or June 15th.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Assisting in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes. Work on projects that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, including process mapping, root cause analysis, and implementation of improvement strategies. Help drive our commitment to operational excellence.
  • Supporting the integration of digital technologies in our manufacturing processes. Work on projects involving data collection, analysis, and the implementation of Industry 4.0 solutions to enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects.
  • Conducting research and analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Documenting findings and present recommendations to management.
  • Participating in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Senior or rising senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Candidates must not be graduating prior to September 2026.
  • Pursing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Prior experience as a Supply Chain Management Intern with Siemens Smart Building Products.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week internship.
  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Buffalo Grove, IL as this role does not provide housing or relocation support.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as ability to work in teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

You’ll Benefit From
The hourly pay range for this position $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
