An Application Engineer, Post Sales/Order Engineer in a Power Monitoring and Metering group acts as the key technical link between sales, manufacturing, and the customer. This role ensures that customer specifications are correctly translated into viable product orders and implemented according to industry standards.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Application Engineer/Order Engineer to join our Digital Power organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer orders and specifications for power management systems, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance, and facilitating a seamless transition from sales to production and delivery. 

You will make an impact with the following responsibilities:

  • Submittal Standardization: Lead the improvement, standardization, and automation of design documentation for our digital power solutions. Review and improve existing standards and processes to ensure consistent, detailed, and repeatable design development.
  • Order Review and Validation: Review and interpret order documentation including specifications, tender documents, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and other technical requirements for digital power solutions.
  • Technical Design and Configuration: Design and validate orders for digital power solutions ensuring customer requirements and budgets are optimally considered. Design includes network design, hardware validation, verification of automation requirements, software specifications, and more.
  • Documentation and Procedure Development: Create procedures and templates for validating BOMs, generating detailed design documentation, and providing installation clarity via strong design documentation.
  • Compliance and Standards Assurance: Ensure all orders and designs comply with relevant industry standards.
  • Technical Support and Liaison: Provide advanced design assistance and guidance to internal teams (sales, business development, solution engineers, project management) and external customers regarding product specifications, installation, and operation.
  • Process Improvement: Participate and collaborate in recommended improvements to standardize procedures and installation methods.
  • Communication & Coordination: Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure vendors, suppliers, and other engineering departments provide timely and accurate documentation for third-party system integrations.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or engineering.
  • 3 plus years of experience in application engineering, field service, or technical sales support role within the power management, energy solutions, or electrical equipment industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power systems, power quality concepts, data acquisition, and energy management solutions. Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, IEC 61850, etc.) and networking architectures is essential.
  •  Willingness to travel to customer sites and internal meetings as needed 20% travel or less.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with relevant engineering software tools and Microsoft business applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-oriented approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for effective interaction with all levels of the organization and customers; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment, be self-motivated, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Any related professional certification
  • Experience using AI for process improvement, automation, and general business efficiency gains. 
  • Experience with specific energy and power management applications
  • Experience with complex data centers, healthcare, and industrial applications.
  • Experience generating technical designs and offerings for complex solutions that incorporate software, service, and hardware scopes.

The pay range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

The pay range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
