Your new role – challenging and future-oriented
We are seeking an experienced Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer with 8-10 years of expertise in the field of power plant engineering. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and power plant operations. You will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of control and instrumentation projects, from design to commissioning and maintenance, including vendor management and technical evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of control systems and instrumentation for power plant projects. (Instrument List, IO List, Cable Schedule, etc)
- Create control schemes, logic diagrams, and instrumentation layouts in line with project specifications.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the entire control and instrumentation project lifecycle, from initial concept to final completion.
- Work collaboratively with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure integration and seamless project execution.
- Track project progress, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and vet vendor offers and technical drawings for control and instrumentation equipment.
- Review and approve vendor specifications to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Engage in technical discussions and negotiate with vendors to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation including engineering specifications, datasheets, and test procedures.
- Keep accurate records of all project modifications and updates.
- Provide regular progress reports to management and stakeholders.
- Cable Tray Routing:
- Design and implement efficient cable tray routing solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to optimize routing paths.
- Cable Length Calculation:
- Accurately calculate cable lengths required for various projects.
- Utilize software tools and manual methods for precise measurements.
- Document calculations and provide clear communication to the procurement team.
- LT & HT Panel Selection:
- Select appropriate LT (Low Tension) and HT (High Tension) panels for different applications.
- Conduct load analysis and ensure panels meet the necessary specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality and compliance.
- Switchgear Knowledge:
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of switchgear components and their applications.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of switchgear systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to switchgear.
- Sizing Calculation:
- Conduct sizing calculations for cables, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Ensure all sizing is compliant with safety standards and regulations.
- Provide detailed reports and documentation of calculations.

- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- • 8-10 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering, specifically within the power plant industry.
- • Proficiency in control system design and instrumentation, with experience in DCS, PLC, SCADA, and other control systems.
- • Familiarity with power plant engineering principles and operations.
- • Thorough knowledge of relevant industry standards such as IEC, ISA, and NFPA.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- • Certification in control systems or instrumentation engineering.
- • Experience with advanced control and automation techniques.
- • Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards in power plant operations.
