The Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future.

We are looking for a Mechanical Assembler III to join our Prefab team on the 2nd or 3^rd Shift. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

Shift Hours: 

Second Shift: 3:00PM- 11:30PM

Third Shift: 11:30 PM - 7:00AM

Hourly Rate: 

Second Shift: $22.46 + $1.00 Shift Differential

Third Shift: $22.46 + $1.50 Shift Differential

Please Note: You will train on the 1st shift for a period of time, at the manager’s discretion, before moving over to the 2nd or 3rd shift.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Have the ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and identify mechanical parts and electrical components.
• Extensive experience using hand and power tools (pneumatic & battery-operated), torque wrenches, and measuring devices like tape measures.
• Ability to lift parts or sub-assemblies up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be proficient in English (read, write, speak) with a strong background in quality and efficiency.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or a related mechanical field.
• Experience with CNC machines
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Forklift driver experience
• SAP experience

You’ll make an impact by: 

• Assemble and wire LV MCC breakers, structures, sub-assemblies, parts kits, and aftermarket parts orders; punch and bend copper on EHRT punch machines as a Mechanical Assembler III.
• Perform sub-assembly tasks, including mechanical assembly, control wiring, power cable work, and interconnection of control wires.
• Read and following BOMs, layouts, assembly drawings, and wiring instructions as needed.
• Use tools appropriately, including setting and using torque wrenches accurately.
• Maintain safety standards, adhering to all safety rules and prioritizing safety for self and others; adhere to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, striving for continuous improvement.
• Support process improvement by following established methods and seeking ways to improve efficiency, while completing additional tasks as assigned.
