Position Overview: 

As a Product Engineering Software (PES) Intern, you will dive into developing our premiere NX CAD software. You will have the opportunity to design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for products, with focus on surpassing customers’ expectations by achieving high quality and on time delivery. 


Key Responsibilities: 

You will be responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. You will also create, document, and execute software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas.  While you will work with general supervision on complex projects and have the opportunity to partner with senior engineers, it will also be important to act with independent judgment when necessary. Projects will focus on the below main disciplines:

  • NX development
  • Use the Siemens CAD software, NX, for development work
  • Experience with C++ and object oriented programming
  • Assist in maintaining our existing software product by analyzing and defining solutions to reported problems
  • Work with customers to understand and improve our NX CAD software
  • Ensure ongoing quality of our software product for our customers


Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (preferred sophomore or pre-junior status), or a first year Master’s student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 5 days onsite in our Costa Mesa office
  • Significant programming experience with C/C++
  • Prior software development work experience is preferred
  •  Experience with 3D CAD modeling Software is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education. In addition, this position is eligible for time off in accordance with Company policies, including paid sick leave and paid volunteer time off.

The hourly pay range for this position is 18-50 per hour for first time Interns or 18-50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
