We are looking for Line Manager - Power Transmission Rolling Stock

You’ll make a difference by

We are seeking a dynamic Line Manager for our power transmission and brake team. Reporting to the Head of Rolling Stock Engineering in India, this leadership role will drive team development, foster collaboration, and build strong relationships between our Indian operations (Bangalore/Pune/Gurgaon) and European headquarters. The ideal candidate will balance people leadership with strategic vision to create an environment where innovation and collaboration thrive.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Inspire, mentor, and grow a diverse team of system engineers, focusing on individual strengths and career aspirations.
  • Create a positive team culture that encourages open communication, creative thinking, and personal growth.
  • Implement coaching and development programs that help team members reach their full potential.
  • Recognize and celebrate team achievements while providing constructive guidance for improvement.
  • Build a talent pipeline through recruitment, development, and succession planning.

Collaboration & Relationship Building

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with counterparts in India and at our headquarters.
  • Coordinate multiple projects effectively between our Indian locations in Bangalore, Pune, and Gurgaon.
  • Bridge cultural and geographical differences to ensure seamless collaboration between global teams.
  • Represent your team's interests and achievements to the broader organization.

Strategic Vision & Growth

  • Work with the Head of Rolling Stock Engineering to align team objectives with broader company goals.
  • Identify opportunities for team expansion and capability development across our Indian locations.
  • Champion new ideas and approaches that can drive business growth.
  • Create an environment where innovation is encouraged and rewarded.

Business Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across different functions and locations.
  • Partner with sales and project management to understand market needs and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with customer service to provide technical support when needed.

Desired Skills:

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of railway power transmission systems, including AC/DC traction systems, power electronics, and braking technologies.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61287, EN 50388, and other relevant railway technical standards.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for power systems and thermal analysis.
  • Proficiency with PLM systems, requirements management tools.

Leadership Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing technical teams.
  • Experience managing diverse teams across different locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate others toward common goals.
  • Strong track record of growing team capabilities and individual talent.

Communication & Collaboration Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships across international boundaries.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence without direct authority.

Business & Strategic Thinking

  • Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities.
  • Experience translating strategic vision into actionable team goals.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on practical solutions.
