We are looking for a Rolling Stock Warehouse Technician Intern. This position will be based at our Lexington area branch located in North Carolina.
During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the RS warehouse where you will learn how sort/organize/file warehouse related documents (BOL’s, Packing Slips, etc.) and how to get weight and dimensional information together for needed material master data updates.

A little bit about us

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

How does the RS warehouse play into the big picture?

The RS warehouse is responsible for receiving materials from vendors, maintaining accurate inventory, optimizing inventory storage, and picking/kitting inventory for production work orders.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Measuring materials (weight and dimensions) for master data updates
• Inputting W&D information into a spreadsheet
• Organizing, filing, and scanning receiving related documentation
• 5S related activities: labelling, organizing, etc
• Other WH related tasks
Critical Capabilities:
• Resourcefulness

• Ability to work independently as needed
• Familiarity with measurement tools: scale, tape measure, etc.
• Basic math skills
• Organizational skills

Who Should Apply?

• Education / Majors: Current sophomore or junior undergraduates pursuing a BA/BS from an accredited college or university and majoring in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or Quality with strong technical or analytical aptitude
• Availability: 40 hours per week from June to August
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
• Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Demonstrated leadership potential
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical-thinking skills
• Industry knowledge and/or interest

You’ll benefit from:

The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $30 per hour, based off your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
