About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.
We are looking for a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.
We are seeking a dynamic results-driven Production Supervisor to lead first-shift operations at Prefabrication line in our facility in Wendell, NC. This role is critical to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations, including workforce management, process optimization, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, meeting production targets, and supporting strategic initiatives that align with our long-term business goals.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Lead, plan, and manage daily production activities to meet or exceed safety, quality, cost, and delivery (SQCD) targets.
- Supervise and develop a team of production associates, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and accountability.
- Champion 6S, Safety, and Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Planning teams to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and taking corrective actions as needed.
- Optimize labor and equipment utilization to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
- Utilize the Tier Meeting process to track and assess key operational metrics and implement actions and methods to improve operational performance.
- Direct day-to-day activities in production areas, including manpower movement, job assignments, time/attendance/vacation data, and pull the workload to meet all customer needs in the most effective manner.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes by coordinating resources and ensuring readiness on the production floor.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve cycle times.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, labor hours, and material usage in SAP.
- Manage production order workflows and updates in Salesforce.com.
- Oversee time and attendance tracking using Dayforce, ensuring accurate payroll and compliance.
- Participate in internal and external audits, customer visits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and innovation across the team.

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a production setting.
- Working knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing context.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and 5S implementation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with com.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sheet metal and copper, switchgear or electrical equipment manufacturing.
- Technical training or certifications in manufacturing, operations, or lean methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean Certification.

The pay range for this position is $61,547 - $105,509 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
