We are undergoing a significant global transformation of our Technical Presales teams and are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead this exciting initiative with responsibility for all Technical Presales for the Americas Region (North and South America). This is a critical role that partner with global presales leadership to shape the future of our technical sales organization, driving the greenfield buildout of a world-class Presales team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and managing successful technical teams, a customer-centric approach, and experience working with and selling to electrical utilities.

This is a remote position within the contiguous U.S.

How you will be making an impact:

  • Team Development & Mentorship: Develop and mentor a high-performing team of Solutions Architects and Product Sales Engineers across the America’s. This includes providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance their technical and sales skills.
  • Performance Management: Establish clear performance metrics and expectations for the Presales team. Regularly monitor performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment and onboarding of new Solutions Architects and Product Sales Engineers across the America’s, ensuring that we attract and retain top talent.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement standards for customer engagement, including pre-sales activities, technical presentations, proposal development, and customer relationship management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales, product management, engineering, and other teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Customer Focus: Foster a customer-centric culture within the Presales team, emphasizing the importance of understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional service.
  • Global Alignment: Ensure consistent standards and processes are implemented across all zones and regions, while also considering local market nuances.
  • Budget Management: Manage the budget allocated to the Presales team effectively.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on team performance and progress towards transformation goals.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree required with a preference in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering or Software Engineering/Computer Science, preferably with studies related to Electrical Utility operations and planning.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Electrical Power Engineering or Electric Utility Solutions Architect related experience.
  • Successful involvement in selling complex software products and services that, together, solve challenging problems for customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and functionally influence policy and guidelines within the areas of business/technology and develop processes and systems to deliver functional objectives.
  • Quick learner and initiative driven. 
  • Excellent writing, and oral communication/presentation skills with customers internal/external to convey ideas and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Travel requirement estimated at 40% (domestic and international)
  • Solid computer skills using Microsoft Office 365 Suite

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree that provides credence to qualifications.
  • Proven experience leading and managing successful Solutions Architect or similar technical sales teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience with global team management and cross-cultural communication.
  • Ability to drive change and implement new processes.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

The pay range for this position is $145,156 - $248,839 annually with a commission target of 20% of salary - 100% of salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
