We are looking for a Portfolio Consulting Manager to lead a team of engineering professionals responsible for delivering technical solutions to utility, industrial, and commercial clients. This role leads project execution, supports business development initiatives, ensures technical excellence, and drives operational performance within the Distribution & Industrial (D&I) practice. The Manager is accountable for resource management, talent development, financial performance, and maintaining strong client relationships.

This is a remote position based in the contiguous U.S.

What you will be working on:

  • Lead and develop the Distribution & Industrial engineering team, including staffing, performance management, coaching, and professional growth.
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring high‑quality technical work and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide senior technical oversight for distribution and industrial power system studies and engineering deliverables.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact and ensuring satisfaction across engagements.
  • Support business development activities, including proposals, scopes of work, and identification of new opportunities.
  • Drive operational performance, including resource planning, utilization, forecasting, and continuous improvement.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required, with a focus on Power and Energy Systems preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with minimum of 8 years of experience in distribution or industrial power system analysis and planning, bringing industry relationships to develop business for the team they will manage.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams in a consulting or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, CYME, Aspen).
  • Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and client expectations.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills with demonstrated ability to write effective technical reports.
  • Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in distribution planning, DER integration, and grid modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with industrial facility power infrastructure (medium and low voltage systems).
  • Working knowledge of protection and coordination, power quality, reliability analysis, and dynamics.
  • Budget responsibility for previous projects preferred.
  • Previous experience with consulting sales, client account management, or portfolio leadership.

The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $210,773 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
