Then come and join our global team as Head of Development Mechatronics, Controls and Components (f/m/d).


Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You hold the global responsibility for the Development of Mechatronics, Control and Service Software and Electronic Components, managing a global team in Forchheim, Germany and partner sites in Shanghai, Shenzhen, China and Bangalore, India.
  • You are responsible for the market-driven development of subsystems for fixed and mobile C-arms, robot-assisted surgery, and hybrid integration solutions.
  • You are responsible for functional strategy, process optimization, personnel planning and development, planning and adherence to budgets and target costs.
  • You collaborate closely with the R&D Value Streams in achieving development goals, ensuring quality & transparency, and contributing to installed base maintenance.
  • You define the corresponding technology, sub-system, and component roadmaps and manage internal and external suppliers.
  • Together with our global development teams, you will optimize PLM efficiency, effectiveness, and advance the development of a global toolkit
  • You are the contact partner for our Technological Excellence Centers and jointly define and execute subsystem/component development.
  • You cultivate a high-performing, diverse leadership team and champion employee engagement, support capability development, and actively manage talent and succession planning within your organization.

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You hold a university degree in Engineering, Science, Management, or a comparable field
  • You have substantial experience in leading large R&D teams within business line or business area R&D organizations
  • You possess extensive experience in the development and industrialization of mechatronic systemsmedical electronics and embedded control software development
  • You have at least five years of management experience across two levels, including strategy development, transformation planning and change management
  • You have a proven track record of managing global R&D teams and budgets in a global setup and actively collaborating within supplier & partner networks
  • You have a strong background in project management, ideally within medical technology development and the release of medical products
  • You have a solid understanding and long-standing experience in target costing and cost-conscious product development
  • You are Business fluent in English; German is an advantage
