We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us in Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock business as a Finance Assistant to be based in Goole! Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Cost Accountant, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks with key focus on supporting the planning and reporting activities, budgets, forecasts, and month-end closing process.
This role is based at our brand‑new Goole facility, with a requirement to be on site 4 days per week to collaborate closely with the team.
You’ll create an impact by…
- Forecasting – Support the cost accountant with completion of the monthly forecast, proposal of reasonable adjustments and submission
- Monthly Reporting – Support the cost accountant with reconciliations with SAP, variance analysis vs budget and forecast
- Month end – Support the cost accountant with the full month end close, including postings, accruals, provisions
- Reconciling operational and financial system, including investigating and resolving interfacing issues
- Verifying workflow, goods receipt/invoice receipt and goods receipt discrepancy resolution
- Driving digitalisation & process improvements
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting, providing support to projects on any inventory topics
Your success will be grounded by …
- Being Part-Qualified / Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent
- Having knowledge and experience using SAP (desirable)
- The ability to demonstrate understanding and interpretation of key financial statements
- Ability to demonstrate initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work as this role will involve working independently
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
