We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert for the Solutions team. This role is hybrid with travel to Wendell, NC office on an as-needed basis.

You will make an impact as the Subject Matter Expert by:

This role will play a significant role in the continued growth of the EA Business Unit by working to train and grow the external engineering team to the core US organization with continued growth and development of the Solutions Application Engineering team. This role will particularly focus on preparing and overseeing training, preparation, and quality of output relating to quotation activities for these remote teams. 

  • Train and grow engineering teams in all the hubs established by the core US engineering team for all the relevant product lines.
  • Responsible for working with the regional organization to meet and exceed Engineering quality and other KPIs for assigned products.
  • Responsible for working with regional management to ensure appropriate performance of remote teams.
  • Provide input to the Process & Data Management (PDM) Team to enable the PDM team to deliver effective process training materials.
  • Provide input to the Product Standardization (PS) Team to enable the PS team to design, maintain, and enhance design guidelines and standard part libraries for both electrical components and mechanical assemblies.
  • Provide input to the Digital Knowledgebase (DKB) Team to allow for enhanced rules, interlockings, and standards within product configurators.
  • Own and manage the hub employee cost centers for the product lines against planned budgets as aligned with the teams.
  • Create and maintain skills matrix for the hub team of engineers to ensure employee development and growth.
  • Identify training gaps and develop training classes to address learning opportunities

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 10+ years experience supporting application engineering teams with solutions proposals
  • 3+ years of relevant front end quotations experience
  • Ability to analyze customer’s technical specifications & single line diagrams, apply appropriate product offerings to meet the customers’ expectations in cost-effective and timely manner, offer alternative solutions to optimize profitability while meeting customer needs.
  • Basic financial knowledge to understand and participate in ongoing business planning and support the product as well as project lifecycle management processes.
  • Ability to identify market trends and using this information, work closely with Marketing and Technology to create and justify projects to close the identified gaps.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office tools and willingness to learn product configuration/pricing applications.
  • Travel Required – 10-15%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, and decision-making skills in a team environment, and demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communications skills to effectively and accurately communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Prior experience with leading a team or working in a training or mentorship capacity
  • 3+ years of experience with quotations or other front end activities with a particular focus on power distribution applications.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards for power distribution applications and the best practices. In specific for Medium Voltage switchgear and Transformers applications.
  • Experience in the design and application of electrical distribution products with a focus on medium voltage metal clad, metal enclosed switchgear products and/or Transformers.
  • Knowledge and experience evaluating Single line drawings, schematics, relay protection & control schemes, communication network diagrams and related engineering documents.
  • 1-2 years engineering experience in an EPC, engineering, manufacturing, utility, industrial corporate environment or similar. Advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.

The pay range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794 annually with a target incentive of of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
