Position Overview

As part of the Siemens cloud operations organization, this position makes significant contributions towards the delivery of best-in-class cloud based applications.  As a developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting all internal tools and offerings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software development, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Support Engineering.

In this role, the successful person will create and maintain Internal tools/offering that helps developers build, test, and deploy applications more efficiently and contribute to improve developer experience. Streamline the software development process by automating routine tasks and providing a unified interface for developers to work across different platforms. Meet security compliance and best practice standards and are well documented.  Participate in, and sometimes lead, proof of concept and first-of-a-kind activities to validate product concepts.

Responsible for surpassing customer expectations to achieve high-quality, innovative solutions that are delivered on-time.  Has diversified knowledge of methods and practices in broad areas of infrastructure development and operations. Recognized by peers as a strong collaborator.  Must excel in a team environment that changes with new technology adoption and evolving customer requirements.  Works with some supervision on the most complex projects and desires to obtain complete latitude for independent judgment.  Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Design, develop, modify, and implement software programming for internal products with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and executes software designs which may involve significant re-architecture of important systems, defining and coordinating implementation of wide-reaching impacts. Acts as Technical lead of major projects within one area of a product. Frequently consults with customers regarding future upgrades and products. Influences the technical direction for one area of a product. Promotes innovation through the ability to introduce new technology/knowledge into at least one area of a product and to our people. Provides high-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. Provide problem resolution and technical leadership for the group. Possesses broad knowledge of internal operating systems, applications implications and customer areas. Technical Lead in guiding junior engineers. Works without supervision on highly complex projects with complete latitude for independent judgment and technical expertise. Extensive knowledge of the field.

This position is based in Charlotte, NC, and follows a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Design, Develop and customize platform to serve as a developer portal for internal teams.
• Integrating different R&D tools and services in platform for seamless developer onboarding experience
• Maintain and upgrade OSES platform as per evolving development needs
• Work on container orchestration, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines for deploying and managing k8s instances
• Monitor the performance of developer platform, identify potential issues, and ensure high availability of the platform
• Using Infrastructure As Code (IAC) best practices, create automated infrastructure within the cloud and on-premise platform, including package management, application load and configuration, and systems monitoring and administration.
• Deliver improvements to source code management, deployment, operations, maintenance, cost control, security, monitoring, and audit tools and processes.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and processes to support development, QA, and customer value realization teams.
• Manage a service critical codebase with version control using Git including Gitlab, or Github
• Be part of maintaining a 24x7, global, highly available SaaS environment according to internal and external service level agreements.
• Provide innovative solutions to problems in the area of acknowledged expertise.   
• Implement new functionality. Ensure that resultant deliverable is consistent with design.
• Ensure that appropriate code reviews and unit tests are performed.
• Manages assigned projects including defining scope, plans, schedules, and deliverables.
• Research - Maintain technical expertise in area of specialty by following technical advances in industry and academia.
• Perform research to determine possible technical solutions to long-term technical issues.
• Proactively communicates status of all projects, tools, and environments.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into developer platforms and internal tools to enhance automation and developer productivity
• Design and implement agentic AI systems for autonomous task execution, workflow orchestration, and intelligent decision-making
• Develop and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to enable seamless AI model integration and context sharing across platforms
• Build AI agent frameworks with tool-calling capabilities, memory management, and multi-agent collaboration patterns
• Implement AI-powered code analysis, testing, and optimization tools within CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and deploy LLM-based solutions for documentation generation, code assistance, and intelligent search capabilities
• Design and implement AI-driven monitoring and anomaly detection systems for platform performance and security
• Create intelligent automation workflows using agentic AI for incident response, root cause analysis, and self-healing systems
• Build and maintain RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems for knowledge management and intelligent documentation
• Implement AI orchestration layers for managing multiple AI models, agents, and services in production environments

Education, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent
• 6-12 years of related experience
• 2+ years of experience with AI/ML frameworks and tools in production environments (preferred)
• Demonstrated experience integrating AI capabilities into developer tools or platforms
• Experience building or working with agentic AI systems and autonomous agents
• Hands-on experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar AI integration frameworks (Preferred)

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Developer or similar role, experience with full-stack development
• Proficiency in modern frontend development using React and TypeScript for building responsive web applications
• Strong Proficiency in Java, Python and GO
• Hands-on experience with Node.js for backend services and server-side JavaScript development
• Expertise in package management and build tools including NPM, Yarn, Maven, and Gradle
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container orchestration platform
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Proficient in API development, including RESTful and GraphQL
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and integration with developer tools
• Knowledgeable in YAML configurations and infrastructure automation
• Hands-on experience with gitlab/github, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Hands-on expertise with automation/configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.
• Experience in securing CI/CD pipelines, including secret management, registry scanning, and runtime security
• Ability to adopt and extend continuous integration and testing processes, GitLab/GitHub-CI experience preferred
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or similar) and prompt engineering
• Knowledge of AI model deployment, monitoring, and MLOps practices
• Understanding of vector databases and semantic search technologies
• Experience with AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot or similar)
• Ability to evaluate and implement responsible AI practices, including bias detection and model governance
• Knowledge of AI security considerations and best practices for securing AI/ML workloads

• CICD pipeline tools (Artifactory, SonarQube, Vault, Aqua, Container registry etc.)

• Knowledge of RAG architectures and AI orchestration platforms
• Understanding of AI observability and monitoring techniques
