At Siemens Mobility, we empower transport providers worldwide to realize sustainable mobility solutions. As a leading technology company, we combine the real and digital worlds like no other in rail. In an open ecosystem, we bring together rolling stock, rail infrastructure, customer service, and software to enable sustainable, comfortable and cost‑effective rail traffic today.

Your Role – Impactful, Meaningful and Future‑Oriented

In this role you will contribute to the successful delivery of our projects while gaining hands‑on experience in a real engineering and technology environment. This opportunity is ideal for a final‑year student who is keen to learn, develop practical skills, and work alongside experienced professionals in a modern rail and IT environment.

In this role you will:

  • Support the team by communicating effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders and collating information into clear technical documentation.
  • Gain exposure to networking technologies, including IT frameworks, network topologies, firewalls, switches and ruggedised devices.
  • Work with Linux‑based systems (primarily Debian), supporting basic user management, log review, disk management and security features.
  • Assist with automation and scripting activities, including exposure to Ansible, Git, and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Use and support common software tools and processes, including SQL, Jira, configuration management tools, VPNs and standard office applications.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds.

  • Currently in the final year of study in IT, Computer Science, Software, Systems or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with an interest in IT systems, Linux environments and automation.
  • Familiarity or exposure to networking concepts, scripting, and version control principles.
  • Availability to work 2–3 days per week alongside university studies.

Join us in transforming the everyday for a better tomorrow.

Siemens prides itself on its diverse workforce.
We encourage applications that reflect the diversity of the communities within which we work, and we actively promote inclusion and equal opportunity. Flexible working practices are supported to help employees balance work and personal commitments.
