Come and join our “Graph & Ontology Platforms” team as a Platform Integration Developer. The “Graph & Ontology Platform” is a central IT service within Siemens Healthineers that provides a platform for data and non-data scientists in our Business Units to analyze and learn from their data utilizing the power of graphs and semantic engineering.

Our goal is to enable diverse use cases across all of Siemens Healthineers regardless of whether they utilize graphs for visualization, analytics, backends or as input for AI Systems. As part of the Center of Excellence for Data and AI, you will develop and integrate solutions for our enterprise graph platforms, including the Ontology platform, an upcoming extension to the Graph Ecosystem at Siemens Healthineers.

Your tasks and responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain connectors and integration components for the Knowledge Graph Platform
  • Execute modifications to existing use cases in response to evolving business demands
  • Integrate additional platform components
  • Automate and optimize platform processes and pipelines, such as data ingestion workflows and onboarding procedures for new use cases
  • Designing and documenting APIs to expose knowledge graph capabilities
  • Implement Platform Architecture Plans on Kubernetes / Azure based system
  • Monitor and enhance platform performance/scalability by optimizing queries, data retrieval mechanisms and existing solutions to ensure operational efficiency
  • Design and implement Data Federation
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the platform, including architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides/best practices
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to graph databases & cloud computing and make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies and practices
  • Collaboration with data architects, ontology engineers, and domain experts
Your qualifications and experience
  • You hold a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related subjects
  • You have 4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience as a (graph) database developer or similar
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on status, progress and risks
  • Knowledge of data modeling, ontology design, and schema definition
  • Familiarity with graph databases both RDF & Property Graph, experience with Ontologies is appreciated
  • Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Python, Java)
  • Experience with API design and integration (REST, GraphQL, event-based systems/Kafka)
  • Prior work with semantic web frameworks
  • Working with knowledge graph technologies in production environments
  • Proficiency in implementing architecture specifications, technical designs, and integration blueprints
  • Practical experience implementing platform features based on architectural guidelines
  • Demonstrated expertise in project-based software development, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Experience in setting up pipelines and designing scalable data ingestion pipelines and connectors
  • Hands-on development of integrations between enterprise systems and Knowledge Graph/ontology platforms
  • Experience designing and implementing system integrations at scale
  • Background in data engineering, data integration, or platform development
  • Experience in enterprise environments with complex data landscapes
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) & and underlying technologies (Linux)
  • Implementation of Networking component of platform (Azure, Port Forwarding, SSL etc.)
  • Front-end development experience, particularly with frameworks such as React, is highly appreciated but not required
  • Knowledge of enterprise industry best practices and standards regarding graph databases is a plus

  • You have strong communication and collaboration skills and can communicate effectively with stakeholders, translate technical jargon into plain language, and build consensus around complex technical solutions
