Global Commodity Manager (f/w/d) Mechanical Assemblies & Strategic Projects
The Global Commodity Manager (f/m/d) – Mechanical Assemblies will drive the global strategy for complex mechanical assemblies which are used in our products and systems, while in the additional role as Strategic Project Manager (f/m/d) you will contributing to key strategic procurement initiatives that strengthen sustainability, resilience, and productivity across our supply base.

You’ll make an impact by
- Contribute to the development and implementation of global commodity strategies for mechanical assemblies across all relevant categories, ensuring optimal cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
- Support the supplier selection, development, and performance management, including capability assessments.
- Monitor global supply markets, including technology trends, cost drivers, risks, and innovation potential, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Coordinate and support a virtual team of factory buyers globally to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities.
- Work on global projects, coordinating stakeholders across countries and time zones to ensure aligned outcomes.
- Leverage digital and AI supported procurement tools to enhance transparency, decision making, and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, sustainability standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Report regularly on commodity performance, project status, risks, and value contributions.
- Collaborate cross functionally with engineering, product management, operations, finance, and cross regional teams to define needs and jointly drive value creation.
Your defining qualities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical/commercial field.
- Experience & Skills:
- Several years of professional experience in commodity management and/or strategic procurement in an international environment.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract handling capabilities.
- High proficiency in data analytics, digital procurement tools, and ideally AI supported applications.
- Ways of working:
- Excellent analytical skills and structured problem solving approach and the ability to work independently, proactively, and effectively within a dynamic global environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing global stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
- Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
