We are looking for Senior Vehicle Control System Tester

You’ll make a difference by

He/she manages validation and verification of all TCMS subsystems and components in line with make or buy strategy on the project.

  • 100% compliant with EHS rules (regarding activities performed on train and test bench).
  • Management of TCMS validation and verification tools configuration.
  • Delivery of TCMS test procedures & reports.
  • Configuration Management of Verification & Test deliverables.
  • Management of validation status of change requests (CR).
  • Management of CR: all NOK results in test reports related to a CR.
  • Responsible for:
  • Software quality of the vehicle control system (TCMS) by conducting tests in accordance with EN50716.
  • Creating cross-project test specifications for tests in the laboratory and on the actual vehicle.
  • Developing and maintaining Python-based scripts, tools, and automation frameworks to support laboratory and integration testing.
  • Automating laboratory tests using Python to achieve continuous and repeatable test execution.
  • Using Eclipse IDE for software integration tasks, source code navigation, debugging, log analysis, and verification of embedded TCMS applications.
  • Carry out tests in accordance with specifications and document the results.
  • In the event of deviations, clarify the causes with the developers.
  • Further develop our existing test strategies and methods for your area of expertise and ensure the transfer of know-how between projects.
  • Close collaboration with the software development engineers as well as with the software assessors.
  • Together with the team plan and implement test automation.

Desired Skills:

  • Successfully completed a technical degree in computer science, electrical engineering, railway engineering or a related subject.
  • Alternatively, you have relevant technical vocational training supplemented by a technician's degree or several years of experience in testing embedded software in safety-related systems.
  • Experience with test management and knowledge in agile software development is a plus.
  • Practical knowledge of validation methods (boundary tests, equivalence class tests…).
  • Practical knowledge of validation tools (model-based testing tools…).
  • Practical knowledge of validation means (testbeds, simulators…).
  • Hands-on testing experience in a vehicle or under lab conditions.
  • Practical experience on software integration & validation phases as per EN 50657 or EN50716 (minimum of 7 years’ experience in Railway or Health, Defense, Aeronautical, Automative domains).
  • Design for Quality (DFQ) cycle.
  • Knowledge of safety critical software development and testing would be beneficial.
  • Experience in Python for test automation, scripting, data analysis, and tool development.
  • Hands-on experience using Eclipse IDE for software integration, debugging, and analysis of embedded systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on building relationships, providing constructive feedback, and fostering collaboration.
  • Fluent in English and on B2-level in German language.
