As our CIS Bid Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering high‑quality, winning bids across our Control & Information Systems (CIS) portfolio working with internal and external partners. Operating at the centre of cross‑functional collaboration, you’ll lead key competitive tenders, drive governance, engage stakeholders, and ensure seamless transition from tender to project delivery. You’ll make an impact by:
- Leading the full bid lifecycle from Bid/No‑Bid decision through to customer negotiation and Contract Award for bids ranging from £100K up to £10m.
- Developing and implementing winning bid strategies and coordinating technical, commercial and financial inputs.
- Preparing high‑quality tender documentation that captures our offer, mitigates risk and provides a solid baseline for delivery.
- Managing internal governance (LOA / PM@Siemens) and ensuring completion of all bid deliverables.
- Leading multi‑disciplinary tender teams, providing clear direction, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Acting as the client’s primary contact throughout the bid, handling technical, commercial and financial discussions.
Your success will be grounded by:
- Extensive bid management experience in engineering or regulated project environments, including leading bids over £5m.
- Ability to manage multiple parallel bids through full governance workflows.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to structure bids that highlight our value while minimizing risk.
- Proven stakeholder leadership, influencing and motivating teams of 10+ people.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including customer-facing engagement at senior levels.
- Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
It would also be beneficial to have:
- IET, or APMP preferable
- Previously, or currently, occupying the position of Bid Manager, Project Manager, or Commercial Manager in an engineering project based business
