In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is delivering one of the country’s first high-speed rail system. This landmark project, spanning approximately 2,000 kilometers, will connect 60 cities across Egypt, transforming transportation for both passengers and goods. Today, we are recruiting for a Track Lead Engineer to join our Project Delivery Team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

 

What Are My Responsibilities?

  • Monitor site access and work-front availability, identifying constraints and coordinating their timely removal to maintain construction progress.
  • Analyze the track-laying process to identify operational bottlenecks and implement recovery measures to ensure alignment with project milestones.
  • Coordinate material logistics and installation priorities, including sleepers, rails, fastenings, and turnouts, to prevent site downtime and ensure efficient construction sequencing.
  • Utilize track asset inspection data (such as geometry measurements and rail profiles) to convert field data into actionable insights for site teams and ensure construction quality before official handover.
  • Identify and escalate critical track defects, providing technical leadership in root-cause analysis and supporting corrective actions for recurring installation issues.
  • Review and verify Method Statements, Risk Assessments (MSRA), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure technical accuracy and proper implementation during site execution.
  • Represent the Track discipline in technical coordination meetings with project stakeholders, consultants, and authorities to resolve technical and logistical conflicts.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and RAMS teams to ensure track readiness for integration with railway subsystems such as signalling, telecom, and electrification.
  • Prepare performance reports and statistical analyses to evaluate track construction progress against the baseline schedule and provide structured reporting supported by photographic evidence.
 

What Do I Need to Qualify for This Job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in railway construction and infrastructure delivery, including rail corridor works, asset installation, and multidisciplinary system interfaces.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the successful delivery of complex railway infrastructure projects.
  • Strong expertise in data systems, system integration, RAMS, design processes, Independent Safety Assessment (ISA), and railway system safety.
  • Willingness to travel and work across multiple project sites within the High-Speed Rail Project in Egypt.
  • Proactive, confident, and safety-focused, with the ability to work independently and manage complex operational environments.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly for reporting and performance analysis.
