We are looking for a Senior Software Architect – Building Technologies.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Driving Architectural Leadership: Leading the design and evolution of sophisticated software architectures for Siemens Building Technologies, ensuring scalability, reliability, maintainability, and security.
- Defining Technical Vision: Crafting and communicating the architectural roadmap in alignment with business goals, customer needs, and emerging industry trends.
- Championing Cloud-Native Design: Leading the adoption of cloud-native principles and fully leveraging AWS services to build modern, distributed systems.
- Evangelizing Technology: Researching, evaluating, and recommending cutting-edge tools and technologies—especially within the GoLang, Java, and AWS ecosystems—to enhance product capabilities and development efficiency.
- Collaborating Cross-Functionally: Working closely with product management, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into robust architectural designs and technical specifications.
- Mentoring and Guiding Teams: Providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring Performance & Security: Designing systems that meet the highest standards for performance, security, and data privacy, while adhering to Siemens’ internal guidelines and global best practices.
- Maintaining Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive architectural documentation, including design diagrams, standards, and technical guidelines.
- Solving Complex Problems: Acting as a go‑to technical expert to troubleshoot, resolve, and guide teams through complex design and architectural challenges.
You’ll win us over by having:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years as a System Architect or Software Architect.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Angular, GoLang (Go), and Java, with the ability to design and implement high-performance, concurrent applications.
- Extensive experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudFormation, along with deep knowledge of AWS security best practices.
- Proven experience architecting and implementing microservices, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and message queues.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery pipelines.
- Experience with database technologies, including DynamoDB and GraphDB.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive problem-solver with strong analytical thinking and the ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in an agile, cross-functional team environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience or interest in Building Management Systems (BMS), Smart Infrastructure, IoT for buildings, or industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of system/software architecture principles specific to building automation.
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise cloud deployments.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
