Role Overview:
The Energy Engineer is responsible to support and interface with all engineering activities across disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Automation (instrumentation and control ( I&C)), acting as primary technical support for the Project Manager.
He/she supports and provides general clarifications for the technical integrity of the project. Supports in design reviews, interfaces with subcontractors, and ensures the engineering deliverables are aligned with client requitements.
Primary tasks include:
Generally, during the implementation phase:
• Provide technical clarifications to the customer, suppliers and project team members
• Supports the PM in risk and claim management by identifying and evaluating any technical deviations (risks) and, where applicable, preparing proposals for minimizing risks and identifying and exploiting opportunities.
• Preparing and reviewing technical/engineering documentation in coordination with Site Managers and Construction Manager
• Continuous collaboration with Scheduler and PM to update the schedule
• Main technical collaborator and interface with Contract Manager to develop and issue technical specifications, RFQs and Statements of Work for Contracts and Variations The elaboration of technical specifications, requisitions and Statements of Work must be originated from the technical part, interface with contractual language to be managed by Contract Manager.
Engineering / Design Review / Planning:
• Reviewing and commenting on customer specifications and observing standards, compiling feedback from Site Managers
• Alignment with standard solutions and preferred variants and development of a specific plant concept
• Support to Site Managers so that all deliverables (drawings, datasheets, models) are aligned with project scope and client standards
• Validate changes or late inputs for feasibility and impact on construction
Execution / Construction & Installation:
• Support to respond to RFIs and evaluate field modifications for constructability
• Provide real-time support for site technical queries.
• Track field engineering requests and their resolution status.
• Validate in coordination with Site Managers that systems are installed as per design prior to commissioning, ready for Client’s acceptance.
• Ensure, in coordination with the Document Controller, that the engineering master register is kept up to date.
Commissioning & Handover:
• Review system boundaries and ensure readiness of documentation for commissioning
• Support in Punch-list generation and resolution in coordination with Site Managers
• Support troubleshooting and client inquiries during handover
• Support the Site Managers on reviewing, commissioning and start-up procedures
• Review and validate technical content of training material, verifying alignment between training and O&M documentation.
• Support in validation of final engineering documentation and as-built drawings.
• Verify technical scope completion per contract.
• Ensuring quality e.g. through acceptance tests or document review including non-conformance reporting (NCR)
• Collaborating in the final project report and summarizing any lessons learned, including feedback to the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelors 'degree: Energy Engineering, Mechatronic engineering, Chemistry Engineering
- 2 - 5 years of experience
- Fluent English is a must
