Job Title: Electrical & Civil Designer / Draughtsman

Job Summary
The Electrical & Civil Designer / Draughtsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and layouts for electrical and civil engineering works. The role supports design engineers by converting concepts, calculations, and specifications into detailed construction drawings in compliance with applicable standards, codes, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Design & Drafting:

• Prepare electrical drawings including: 

o Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
o Electrical layouts (power, lighting, earthing, lightning protection)
o Cable routing and tray layouts
o Control and instrumentation drawings

• Assist in developing shop drawings, as built drawings, and revisions
• Ensure drawings comply with IEC/IS/IEEE standards and project specifications
• Coordinate electrical layouts with civil, mechanical, and architectural drawings

Civil Design & Drafting
• Prepare civil and structural drawings such as: 
o Foundation drawings
o RCC layouts and detailing
o Equipment foundations, trenches, and road layouts
o Drainage and utility layouts

• Modify and update drawings based on site requirements and engineer feedback
• Ensure accuracy in dimensions, levels, and references

Coordination & Documentation

• Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams
• Maintain proper drawing register and document control
• Incorporate client comments, consultant feedback, and site changes
• Support preparation of BOQs, material take offs, and technical documentation

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Knowledge of electrical and civil engineering drafting standards
• Familiarity with construction drawings and site practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and calculations

Software Skills (Preferred)

• AutoCAD 2D / 3D
• Revit (Electrical/Civil – advantage)
• MS Office (Word, Excel)

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to work under deadlines
• Willingness to support site teams and revisions

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Draftsmanship
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in EPC, construction, or consulting firms
• Experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred

Working Conditions: -

• Office based role with occasional site visits
• May require coordination with multiple disciplines and vendors
